It was narrated from Saeed bin 'Amr bin Saeed bin Abi Al-As, that: he heard Ibn 'Umar narrate that the Prophet (ﷺ) said; "We are an unlettered Ummah; we do not use computation. The month is like this, and this, and this," and he held down his thumb the last time. "And the month is like this, and this, and this," completing thirty.
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " إِنَّا أُمَّةٌ أُمِّيَّةٌ لاَ نَحْسِبُ وَلاَ نَكْتُبُ وَالشَّهْرُ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا " . وَعَقَدَ الإِبْهَامَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ " وَالشَّهْرُ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا " . تَمَامَ الثَّلاَثِينَ .

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood, on the Day of Sacrifice, between the Pillars, during the Hajj that he performed. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “What day is this?” They said: “The day of sacrifice.” He said: “What land is this?” They said: “This is the sacred land of Allah.” He said: “What month is this?” They said: “The sacred month of Allah.” He said: “This is the day of the greatest Hajj, and your blood, your wealth and your honor are sacred to you, as sacred as this land, in this month, on this day.” Then he said: “Have I conveyed (the message)?” They said: “Yes.” Then the Prophet (ﷺ) started to say: “O Allah, bear witness.” Then he bade farewell to the people, and they said: “This is the Farewell Pilgrimage.”
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ الْغَازِ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ نَافِعًا، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ وَقَفَ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ بَيْنَ الْجَمَرَاتِ فِي الْحَجَّةِ الَّتِي حَجَّ فِيهَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " أَىُّ يَوْمٍ هَذَا " . قَالُوا يَوْمُ النَّحْرِ . قَالَ " فَأَىُّ بَلَدٍ هَذَا " . قَالُوا هَذَا بَلَدُ اللَّهِ الْحَرَامُ . قَالَ " فَأَىُّ شَهْرٍ هَذَا " . قَالُوا شَهْرُ اللَّهِ الْحَرَامُ . قَالَ " هَذَا يَوْمُ الْحَجِّ الأَكْبَرِ وَدِمَاؤُكُمْ وَأَمْوَالُكُمْ وَأَعْرَاضُكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ حَرَامٌ كَحُرْمَةِ هَذَا الْبَلَدِ فِي هَذَا الشَّهْرِ فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ " . ثُمَّ قَالَ " هَلْ بَلَّغْتُ " . قَالُوا نَعَمْ . فَطَفِقَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَقُولُ " اللَّهُمَّ اشْهَدْ " . ثُمَّ وَدَّعَ النَّاسَ فَقَالُوا هَذِهِ حَجَّةُ الْوَدَاعِ .

Narrated 'Aishah:
That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) judged: "The produce is for the responsible one."
[Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih. This Hadith has been reported through routes other than this, and this acted upon according to the people of knowledge.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، وَأَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ مَخْلَدِ بْنِ خُفَافٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَضَى أَنَّ الْخَرَاجَ بِالضَّمَانِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ مِنْ غَيْرِ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ . وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ .

This hadith has been narrated by Zuhri with the same chain of transmitters but with this addition:" And he did not lead the player after this till his death."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ح قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنِي حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ، ح قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، قَالاَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، ح قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ صَالِحٍ، كُلُّهُمْ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ . وَزَادَ فِي حَدِيثِ صَالِحٍ ثُمَّ مَا صَلَّى بَعْدُ حَتَّى قَبَضَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ .
Narrated 'Abdullah bin Buraidah: from his father that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Do you know what the parable of this and this is?" - and he tossed two pebbles. They said: "Allah and His Messenger (ﷺ) know better." He said: "This (the farther) one is hope, and this (closer) one is death."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَلاَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بَشِيرُ بْنُ الْمُهَاجِرِ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " هَلْ تَدْرُونَ مَا هَذِهِ وَمَا هَذِهِ " . وَرَمَى بِحَصَاتَيْنِ . قَالُوا اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ . قَالَ " هَذَاكَ الأَمَلُ وَهَذَاكَ الأَجَلُ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ .

This hadith has also been narrated by Shu'ba with this chain of transmitters.
وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنِيهِ زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَهْدِيٍّ - قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ .
This hadith has been narrated by Mu'awiya with the same chain of transmitters but with this exception that in this the words of Mu'awiya:" It has been conveyed to me..." have not been mentioned.
وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدَّارِمِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ حَسَّانَ - حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ . مِثْلَهُ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ " وَكَأَنَّهُمَا " . فِي كِلَيْهِمَا وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ قَوْلَ مُعَاوِيَةَ بَلَغَنِي .
(Another chain reaching to Az-Zuhri) with this Hadith.Malik reported this Hadith from Az-Zuhri, from Salim who said: "Umar [bin al-Khattab] was giving a Khutbah on Friday." And he mentioned this Hadith.
قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو صَالِحٍ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ . وَرَوَى مَالِكٌ، هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، قَالَ بَيْنَمَا عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ يَخْطُبُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ . فَذَكَرَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَسَأَلْتُ مُحَمَّدًا عَنْ هَذَا فَقَالَ الصَّحِيحُ حَدِيثُ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ . قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ مَالِكٍ أَيْضًا عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ نَحْوُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ .

It was narrated that Abu Sa’eed said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, during the Farewell Pilgrimage: ‘Is not the most sacred of your days this day, is not the most sacred of your months this month, is not the most sacred of your lands this land? Your blood and your wealth are as sacred to you as this day of yours in this month of yours. Have I not conveyed (the message)?’ They said: ‘Yes.” He said: ‘O Allah, bear witness.’”
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فِي حِجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ " أَلاَ إِنَّ أَحْرَمَ الأَيَّامِ يَوْمُكُمْ هَذَا أَلاَ وَإِنَّ أَحْرَمَ الشُّهُورِ شَهْرُكُمْ هَذَا أَلاَ وَإِنَّ أَحْرَمَ الْبَلَدِ بَلَدُكُمْ هَذَا أَلاَ وَإِنَّ دِمَاءَكُمْ وَأَمْوَالَكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ حَرَامٌ كَحُرْمَةِ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا فِي شَهْرِكُمْ هَذَا فِي بَلَدِكُمْ هَذَا أَلاَ هَلْ بَلَّغْتُ " . قَالُوا نَعَمْ . قَالَ " اللَّهُمَّ اشْهَدْ " .

It was narrated that 'Ali said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade me to wear a ring on this one and this one," meaning the forefinger and middle finger. And this is the wording of Ibn Al-Muthanna.
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنِ الْخَاتَمِ فِي هَذِهِ وَهَذِهِ . يَعْنِي السَّبَّابَةَ وَالْوُسْطَى . وَاللَّفْظُ لاِبْنِ الْمُثَنَّى .
