Our Prophet's
akhlaq
"And you are truly ˹a man˺ of outstanding character"
[Surah Al-Qalam 68:4]
The Most Humble Military Takeover and The Most Generous Amnesty Mankind has Ever seen
By: Shaikh Zafar Ul Hasan Al Madani

During the victory at Makkah, the Muslims were ten thousand in number and not a single enemy could escape from Makkah, as they were outnumbered Amongst the many enemies was Hinda, the lady who sponsored the killing of Hamzah bin Abdul Mutalib (Allah be pleased with him) and then mutilated his body, too. Prophet ﷺ pardoned her but asked her not to come before him as she reminded him of his dead uncle. This mass amnesty by a victorious leader with a whole lot of enemies at his mercy is unmatched in the history of mankind.

There were plenty of incidences of atrocities against Muslims before migration and among the many victims was Prophet’s own daughter Zainab. She was pregnant when she was frightened by a wild pursuit that caused her miscarriage. The likes of such people were in Makkah when it was conquered.

Our Prophet ﷺ asked them, “ What do you expect me to do?” They said, “ You are a noble brother and son of a noble brother.”

He recited the verse of Surah Yusuf where Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) got power and authority over his ten brothers who had tried to kill him when he was a child. But he said to them - He said:

"No reproach on you this day, may Allâh forgive you, and He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy!
(Surah Yusuf -92)

It requires an enormous amount of emotional control to pardon someone who had caused a lot of personal harm! This is the excellence of Akhalaq (character) of a Prophet of Allah.
