Our Prophet's
akhlaq
"And you are truly ˹a man˺ of outstanding character"
[Surah Al-Qalam 68:4]
The prophecy of winning Sham was proven true
By: Shaikh Zafar Ul Hasan Al Madani

When Umar ibn Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him) entered Sham as a victorious ruler, his shirt had 13 patches. When the governor saw the patches, he requested Umar ibn Khattab to wear a new dress. Umar said he did not have more than one dress so the governor offered him his new dress to have a strong impact on the Romans.

Umar replied, “My honor is not based on my new or old clothes. The honor of Umar comes through Islam. If you look for honor from sources other than Qur’an, Allah will dishonor you.”

It was their character that spoke volumes

When Uqbah ibn Ameer (May Allah be pleased with him) was sent as a delegate, he was offered a shining chair made of gold to rest. It was confusing for him because he had never slept or rested on anything except a cushion of palm leaves. This is the first time he had been offered a golden chair. Uqbah got up and threw away the chair and said, “Our Prophet ﷺ has forbidden us to use gold in such a way.”

This applies to all Muslim. Honour lies in adhering to the commands of Shariah.
