Chapter 50: What was narrated concerning women following the funeral (procession)
باب مَا جَاءَ فِي اتِّبَاعِ النِّسَاءِ الْجَنَائِزَ
Sunan Ibn Majah 1577
It was narrated that Umm ‘Atiyyah said
“We were prevented from following the funeral, but that was not made binding on us.”حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ، قَالَتْ: نُهِينَا عَنِ اتِّبَاعِ الْجَنَائِزِ، وَلَمْ يُعْزَمْ عَلَيْنَا .
