Chapter 51: What was narrated concerning the prohibition of wailing
باب فِي النَّهْىِ عَنِ النِّيَاحَةِ
Sunan Ibn Majah 1579
It was narrated from Umm Salamah from the Prophet (ﷺ) regarding
“And that they will not disobey you in Ma’ruf (all that is good in Islam);” he said: “(It is about) wailing.”حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، مَوْلَى الصَّهْبَاءِ عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ {وَلاَ يَعْصِينَكَ فِي مَعْرُوفٍ} قَالَ: " النَّوْحُ " .
