Chapter 14: What was narrated concerning the expiation for one who breaks the fast in Ramadan
باب مَا جَاءَ فِي كَفَّارَةِ مَنْ أَفْطَرَ يَوْمًا مِنْ رَمَضَانَ
Sunan Ibn Majah 1672
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said
“Whoever does not fast one day in Ramadan without having a concession allowing that, fasting for a lifetime will not make up for that.”حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُطَوِّسِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ الْمُطَوِّسِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " مَنْ أَفْطَرَ يَوْمًا مِنْ رَمَضَانَ مِنْ غَيْرِ رُخْصَةٍ لَمْ يُجْزِهِ صِيَامُ الدَّهْرِ " .
