Chapter 29: Giving a slave woman the choice when she is freed
باب خِيَارِ الأَمَةِ إِذَا أُعْتِقَتْ
Sunan Ibn Majah 2074
It was narrated from Aishah that
she freed Barirah and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) gave her the choice, and she (Barirah) had a free husband.حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا أَعْتَقَتْ بَرِيرَةَ فَخَيَّرَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ وَكَانَ لَهَا زَوْجٌ حُرٌّ .
