Chapter 86: What was narrated concerning the period of wiping for residents and travelers
باب مَا جَاءَ فِي التَّوْقِيتِ فِي الْمَسْحِ لِلْمُقِيمِ وَالْمُسَافِرِ
Sunan Ibn Majah 554
It was narrated from Khuzaimah bin Thabit that
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Three days." I think he said, "And three nights during which the traveler may wipe over his leather socks."حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيَّ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ، عَنْ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ " ثَلاَثَةُ أَيَّامٍ - أَحْسِبُهُ قَالَ - وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ لِلْمُسَافِرِ فِي الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ " .
